He pointed out that talent, benefit and data collection are three major problems, while edge computing and Internet of things are the advantages of Taiwan.
Regarding the development opportunities of Taiwan IC design company in the AI industry, ye yihao named edge computing and Internet of things.He believes that Taiwan has a complete and mature supply chain from semiconductor manufacturing process to testing, IP and design services. In addition, Taiwan has health care, a large number of locomotives and other special situations, and has enough big data database, which is very promising.
However, ye points out that the biggest challenge in developing AI is the high cost of chip development. For example, it costs more than nt $300 million to develop a 28-nanometer chip, t $400 million to develop a 16-nanometer chip, and t $700 million to develop a 7-nanometer chip.
In addition, ye yihao believes that Taiwan still lacks AI computing talents, and big data collection is restricted by the personal information law. He calls on companies to adjust their thinking of public construction, which only focuses on hardware procurement, and pay more attention to emerging software applications.At the same time, he also encouraged young students that AI is a key trend in the future. In fact, there are excellent ai-related schools in Taiwan, such as Taiwan artificial intelligence school and AI school of jiaotong university, which are believed to be very promising projects for young people.
In BBS, MAO jinghao, director of the institute of information security science and technology, said that with the rise of 5G, Internet of things and other emerging applications, information security has also gradually attracted attention by the market.
However, according to research firm IC Insights, the number of global investment and security startups hit a five-year low this year, indicating that startups are unable to meet the differentiated needs of customers and have difficulty in obtaining funds.
According to MAO jinghao, in fact, from information security technology, products, services, platforms to the consumer end, there are manufacturers with a long history of layout in the world. However, the biggest problem of the industry at present is that there is no vertical integration and insufficient connection between end and end, resulting in a fault between supply and demand. The industry has not yet formed a clear ecosystem.He suggested that in addition to focusing on internal research and development, the industry should also seek external partners, in order to shape a more complete industrial ecosystem.
