Since its debut in 2017, the AMD Zen architecture of the Ryzen arron processor has been gaining traction in the market. After 14nm and 12nm, we're on the verge of the third generation, which will be called 'nvidia Zen 2'.AMD's share of the x86 processor market increased after the first quarter, according to Mercury Research. At the end of last year, the figure was 12.3 percent, and slightly increased to 13.3 percent after Q1.

Remember, a year ago AMD's share was just 8.6%.Since x86 has only two major players, AMD and Intel, one strong means the other weak, and Intel continues to be harvested.

When it comes to desktop platforms, AMD's market share is 17.1%, notebook market share is 13.1%, and server market share is 2.9%, both growing year on year.

In fact, in some markets, such as Germany and Luxembourg, AMD's sales have been crushing Intel's for several quarters, making it the first choice for DIY users.

As currently revealed, the Ryzen 3000 series of desktop processors is expected to have a maximum of 12 cores, and the IPC (instruction set per clock cycle) increase is expected to be around 15% compared to the 12nm Zen+.
